 example of alpona
ok! contemplating two murals for the new house. the first one will be alpona style and semi permanent. my sister is phenomenal at line drawings and she needs to put some confidence behind her art muscles. she's starting art high school next year. a la FAME, but much more emo.
the second one, i was hoping to invite people over and, have a bbq, and color it together. i would just have to make the outline and under painting.
or i can just do it myself and call it a retreat in my backyard.

after shirking all responsibilities for yet another day, i have these gems to share:
samurai obama . awkward
not quite guerrilla gardening in india.
and last but not least, Chennai Pride March 09, posted mostly for the novelty of linking to The Fellowship. or you can ponder the various Folds or transgressive nature of pride in india.
night.

ooooo.

the back of our new house has a face. all construction all the time for the next week so i was only in the backyard today. good jogging route. the old owners left us two cute bikes.
being in limbo has its upsides. like i don't have to wake up early and can roll out of bed in my favorite flannel shirt, that yes, i've been wearing for two days.
we have a motha-frucking apple tree! that beats the boysenberry or whatever berry tree we've had in the past. the fruit guts literally stain your clothing because there were so many on the ground.
I made my own noodles today. which is mind boggling for me, because I kneeded dough. it came out pretty okay. really obese noodles though. i'm okay with that.
i'ma move to tumblr completely soon. http://bocaa.tumblr.com/
I need tumblr friends. i like reading people.

hey. it's good not to drink. i went to central park summer stage tonight. weird, i know...
came home pretty early and all of a sudden I fouund a song by the Baldpoint Pens called Calcutta. I haven't deciphered it because it's one of those mumbling indie songs. but presumably, it's about someone saying peace out to his bengali girlfriend. i think i'll listen to their album while i fall asleep tonight.
starting to read Saul Bellow short stories. long over due i know! no one uses livejournal anymore huh. i can't seem to leave though.
some boysonberries I picked around my block. we have apples too. i'm not so down for eating other fauna than berries and apples though.

nope. can't leave it alone. since ken lloyd performed in the US last week, I'm getting flooded with teen angst. I pretty much loved him and nick carter in tandem. conflicted, no?
this is ken much later. but he's in a blond wig and dress, so i must.
nick carter for reference:

i still grit my teeth when i watch the local news.
what ever happened to T BOON PICKINS? without any reflection at all, I say he's the anonymous university donor. this year he discovered the feminist agenda and has become a recent convert.

bah. woke up at 6am, there was this important funder visit. the subway breaks. literally, stuck underground for an hour and a half. i completely miss my appointment. have a big breakfast in long island city, decide i want to live not there but by the 7 line, then went to the botanical gardens.
find out later that i was on the clock until 1pm today, and that i just missed work completely. my job is so laid back they dont even care.
flowers for your amusement, i'm still annoyed.

the queens botanical gardens suck, by the way

Yo son, Duncan Steele just got elected as the GOP head. Rachel Maddow had Melissa Harris-Lacewell from Princeton (ew) in a really funny segment on him. She was like dude, even racist whites in america don't want to feel like racist whites. Duncan Steele makes them feel better. i mean more or less. teehee
so this woman is publishing a book called Sister Citizen: A Text For Colored Girls Who've Considered Politics When Being Strong Wasn't Enough.
HahaHAHAHAHA. i shouldn't be laughing. aw. i'll publish a book on literary criticism called mmm, midnight's women: interpretations of small things with white teeth.
nah, that didn't work.
why is i in love with this. i want to squeeze off their heads like pimples. the tall girl reminds me of my friends kate. shh.
also, as a side note about slightly inaccessible music like the above. My favorite erkin koray song is in a videogame commercial now. what what what?

Favorite person of the month: Robert Reich writes "An Open Letter to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Michelle Malkin"
In a time like this, when tempers are riding high and many Americans are close to panic about their jobs and finances, you have a special responsibility to consider the accuracy of what you say and the consequences of inflammatory and erroneous statements. In the last few days, manifestly distorting my words and pulling them out of context, you have accused me of wanting to exclude white males from jobs generated by the stimulus package. Anyone who takes a moment to examine what I actually said and wrote knows this to be an absurd misrepresentation of my position (see this). My goal is and has always been to create as many opportunities for as wide a group as possible, and not exclude anyone from access. There is and has never been any ambiguity about this. The hate mail I have received since your broadcast suggests that the mischievous consequences of your demagoguery are potentially dangerous, in addition to being destructive of rational and constructive political discourse. I urge you to take responsibility for your words. Words and ideas have real world consequences, and you have demonstrated a cavalier disregard for both.
